he story of Bartemus Ammblin takes place thousands of years ago on the Great Plains of North America. Bartemus is a
precocious young Rabbit who lives in the town of Burrowton, located in the Hollow on the bluffs between the Misery River and
the Sea of Big Grass. Bartemus lives with his mother, but it is his Grandfather who takes the most active role in the
development of the young Critter.Throughout the series of books (there are currently three complete novels with plans for
nine books total), Bartemus and his best friends must battle evil forces that would take over the Prairie and all the
Critters who live there. Grandfather often helps, but it is through their friendship, love for the Prairie, love for music,
and their general penchant for getting into trouble that keeps the Critter gang in more adventure than they can handle.
